If, like me, you aren't tremendously fond of January then this is the post for you.
As the twelve days of Christmas disappear and take with them twinkling lights and lovingly adorned trees, the dark mornings can seem to take on a deeper shade - and the wind a colder chill.
But a warm jumper or dress will envelope you like your favourite blanket and thaw the frost as you trudge through the streets. And better still, they're made for layering.
If you really want to commit to layering, mix - or clash - your fabrics, colours and prints. This is the perfect time of year to throw everything on in the name of banishing grey clouds. Personally I love mixing bright silky tops with soft cashmere jumpers. And a pair of jazzy tights can do wonders for your layered look.
But if you want to be more understated, camel and cream shades with navy or black are guaranteed to be chic.
Here I am in Chiswick in the most glorious cashmere knit from The White Company and cigarette pants from ME+EM. The leather jacket is from Reiss and was an investment purchase from three years ago.
